Another Port Forwarding Not Working Post - RBRE960
I have an RBRE960 and can’t seem to enable port forwarding.
I have followed the instructions here: https://kb.netgear.com/31069/How-do-I-configure-port-forwarding-on-my-Orbi-system
And then used a service like yougetsignal and portchecker to check if the port is open, and it never is.
I’ve restarted the router several times, and am making no progress.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Port forwarding requires:
- The router must have a public IP address. It cannot be 'behind' another router. The IP address reported by one of those "what is my IP?" or "are there open ports?" web site must match the IP address on the "Internet" menu page.
- There must a device on the LAN willing to accept connections on the forwarded port. Users very often set up services on Windows computers that work on the LAN, but have the Windows Firewall set to reject 'public' connections. When the Orbi is set to forward connections, it does not respond to those web sites. The connection packet comes in and the router sends it out to the LAN. Any response has to come from the target device.
Perhaps if you report the brand/model of device supplied by the Internet Service Provider we can verify that it does not contain a router.
Start by following the steps in https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-WiFi-6-AX-and-WiFi-6E-AXE/Community-FAQ-My-Orbi-port-forwarding-doesn-t-work/td-p/1984296 . This will help us isolate what is not working. We also need to know what you're trying to expose to the internet, e.g., is it something running on a Windows computer? There is a step in the FAQ for Windows-specific firewall instructions.
