Both Orbi RBS750 Satellites disconnecting after a few hours

I have an RBR750 router in router mode in a mesh network with two RBS750 satellites all on FW version 7.2.6.31. It has been working fine on this version for a few months but in last week the satellites are disconnecting completely after a couple of hours. I have tried rebooting and also a factory reset on all three devices, but the same problem occurs.

The only thing I changed was adding a second unmanaged Netgear switch. I already has a GS305 switch (located in the same cabinet) connected to the second ethernet port on the router. I added a GS308 switch to the third ethernet port (located on different floor) via a 10m Cat6 cable.

Are there any settings I can try on the router that will make it work better with unmanaged switches? Or is this a different issue?

thanks

Ya, downgrade the system back to v.21 on the RBS first, then RBR lastly. Factory reset and setup from scratch and disable Auto update check on the RBR.

Message 1 does not indicate how the two satellites are connected to the router or how they interact with those two unmanaged switches.

    • Satellites use the default WiFi backhaul connection. No connection to either of the switches.
    • One or both satellites are connected to (one? both?) of the switches.

FURRYe38 is correct that the Community Forum has numerous negative comments from users about the ".31" firmware release and a common tactic has been to downgrade to ".21"

Neither satellite is connected via ethernet or connected to the switches so are both using the default WiFi backhaul.

I haven't had time to try the downgrade yet but overnight rebooted the closest satellite and switched the other one off - and it seems to be working - ie first satellite is still connected to the router. The second satellite is around 20ft away from the first in line of sight across open plan living/kitchen area. It also has an Apple TV connected via ethernet that is used as the home hub.
