Can’t access web Ui of Orbi RBS850
Hi all,
I purchased the Orbi RBR850 tri pack last year. It’s running in router mode with the 2 satellites connected wirelessly.
i’ve not had any issues until today when I logged into router website and both satellites showed “out of sync” for backhaul status , and no devices connected to either of them.
I tired re-syncing and power cycling- backhaul status would turn “good” for a moment then out of sync again.
I decided to check the firmware..The web ui says no new firmware available for router but I could see it was very out of date (version 4.x) No firmware version was displayed at all for the satellites.
I have tried updating manually through website, this works for the rbr850, but for the rbs850 a window pops up saying connection refused.
I have tried just typing the satellites IP address into the browser but nothing happens (says “could not connect to the server”)
I have tried plugging an Ethernet cable from my laptop to the back of one of the satellites too. The internet works fine but I still can’t get to the rbs850 webui
As I can’t log in I have no way to manually update the satellites.
p.s. I tried to reset one of the satellites, the power light would flash amber but under attached devices nothing changed.
can anyone suggest what else I should try?
Thanks.

Ok, so downgrade the RBR back to last v4 version of FW. This should get the RBS to connect to the RBR.
I would bring the RBS to same room or near the same room as the RBR for this.
After the RBR and RBS are synced again, you can either wire connect or wirelessly connect the RBS to the back of the RBR. Wired would work better.
You should be able to log in to the RBS web page, at there IP address given by the RBR. If there still out of sync, and if the log in window appears, try using admin and password, all lower case to log in, if the RBR info doesn't work
if you can get in to each RBS web page, have the RBS v7 FW file already downloaded on your PC and manually update the RBS first, both of them. Once the last RBS has been sent the v7 RBS FW file, then you can update the RBR back to v7 FW using the RBR FW file on the RBRs web page.

I might not have been clear but there is no problems when connecting the RBS to RBR. I can press the sync buttons and get the blue light on both satellites
. (this was both before and after upgrading the RBR firmware)
On the app they show as connected :Logging into the router i can see both devices and everything seems to work. The only thing was the "Out of Sync" message which led me here.
The firmware update page does not show the satellite firmware (both before and after updating router)
and when I try manual update for satellites i get this;
And when i type the satellite IP in a browser:

I did try the factory reset instructions you linked to and put both satellites next to the router. I read on another post that the other satellite should be switched off when resetting so I might try doing it again.

As shown in screenshots, I am not getting to a login screen, and I can't figure out why.

Also I would ethernet connect each RBS to the back of the RBR after the RBR is downgraded, then see if they get an IP address then see if you can access there web pages.
