RBS can be connected directly behing the RBR or to a switch that is also connected behind the RBR. Just know that any RBS that is ethernet connected, need to be always connected behind the RBR, along with any Switches that a RBS maybe connected too, these switches needs to be connected behind the RBR.

Non managed switches are recommended for ease of setup and configuration with RBS.
NETGEAR GS-105/108v4 and GS308v3, D-Link DGS-105/108 and HP ProCurve 1400/1800 series switches work for Orbi systems.
Can also mixed RBS connections as well, one ethernet connected, one wirelessly connected to the RBR.
