Can't get internet from satellites using a ethernet cable
Hello everyone,
I purchased the ax4200 orbi system from Costco earlier today and it seems to work fine except for the reason I purchased it for.
I have a older desktop with windows 8.1 and it only works with 2.4ghz wi-fi
Since it's a not near my router that sends 2.4 and 5ghz the internet signal slows down too much and causes too much buffering for my wife while she's on her online classes. I purchased this system so I can connect my desktop to one of the satellites and have a good fast connection.
Or does it not work like that? The router is rbr750 and the satellites are rbs750.
After a few tries the firmware updated to the current version but if I connect a ethernet cable from the satellite to my desktop it says "unidentified network "
"Limited"
The first tech support agent had me make some changes on the orbits router websites and she was great until she told me the changeswill take 30 minutesand if the issue continued then to to call back. The second tech I spoke to was just blaming my desktop basically. I wasted 45 minutes with her.
Does anyone know what I can do to make the satellites give my desktop a fast reliable signal?
My home internet speed is 400mb download btw

What the network settings are for the device you are trying to use is what matters.
What are they?
