Can't sync previously working rbs750 to rbr750
Hi- this may be a firmware craziness thing. I have 3 satellites. Everything was working well until I broke something that didn't need to be fixed. One of the satellites was on 4.6.x firmware so I manually upgraded it to the newest one. 7.2.6.21.
After I did that back haul started reporting as poor. I moved it closer to the base station and it would go to good back haul, but in trying to figure out why the back haul status changed I ended up deleting the satellite from the attached devices list and tried to resync. .
It won't resync.
I tried putting the router and satellite 5 feet from each other. I factory reset the satellite. I even went into the satellite and downgraded it to 4.6.x and then factory reset and tried to resync.
The router simply cannot find this 3rd satellite. It can talk to the other satellites just fine.
I haven't tried power cycling the router and then seeing if that fixes anything. I also haven't tried Factory resetting everything and resetting everything up, but that's a huge pain as I'll have to reload printer drivers on every computer as brother printers are dumb and freak out with network changes like this.
Any advice?

The best advise we can give people is to start a new config, power on one RBS and wait for some SOLID light or most often blue or magenta. And then add the RBS WIRELESSLY via the WebUI. Power off the RBS. Then rinse and repeat with any additional RBS(s). Pair RBS one at a time even if you have more than one. For ethernet connected RBS, after things come up wirelessly, you can move to wired backhaul but don't start with wired backhaul for those RBS that are ethernet connected. Wirelessly connect and sync RBS first before ethernet connecting RBS. Definitely try a reboot of the RBR.

Be sure you are updating the RBS first to the v7 FW then afterwards, update the RBR to same v7 version. Both RBS and RBR need to be on same version of FW.

The satellite initially was behind -- didn't auto update. I manually updated it and that's when thep roblems began. Then I deleted it from the profile, factory reset it, and now I can't sync it to the router. So I downgraded to 4.6.x which was the last working firmware on it. And then factory reset it and tried to resync. didn't work.
I'll re-update it to the same firmware that's on the RBR and the other RBS again, then factory reset it again, then try and resync. Hopefully that fixed it.
I can't tell if this is some strange firmware quirk or something, since the RBS in question was worknig fine until I manually upgraded the firmware to match the other RBSs and the RBR... It wouldn't auto update, saying it couldn't find a newer version for it. I should have left well enough alone! (:
Next time also try the Generate new backhaul password button Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings. I think sometimes the BH password gets out of whack between the RBR and RBS and a new one needs to be put forth.
Sounds like you got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
