challenge under 750 under AP mode

An interesting situation. With the RBR750 WAN port limited to 1GB, no devices connected to the 750 system will get any benefit from the increase in ISP connection speed unless some devices are moved from the 750 to the new router. If those devices require only internet access (and not communication with devices still attached to the 750 system) then there could be an overall improvement in performance. Otherwise, that additional 1.5GB has "no place to go".
Another solution would have been to replace the RBR750 router with an RBR840 or RBR850 router. Both of those have WAN ports capable of 2.5GB
Will the 750 system remain the only WiFi network in the house, or will the WiFi capabilities of the new router be enabled?

For my current setup, under router mode, the 750 works perfect as WIFI provider.
You are correct. I want to link some NAS and other devices with new 2.5G router to have 2.5G connection between NAS and other PC with wired connection.
Actually there is another imperfect solution is to keep new 2.5G router and 750 under router mode, then 750 network is unde 2nd layer network. And the perfect but expensive solution is upgrade to 840.

Might keep router mode with the Orbi system if it works better in this mode. I've not seen any slow or WEB UI issues with my 750 series in AP mode using a static configuration. Possible some odd interoperability issue with the Orbi system in AP mode and one of your host routers maybe.
IF you keep router mode, use the host routers DMZ for the Orbi RBR IP address to help avoid double NAT issues seen when in this configuration. Easy to setup.
