I have the AX4200 system with two hardwired satellites running V7.2.7.15_5.1.16. No issues. UPnP is disabled, IPv4 DHCP is the default with IPv6 disabled. My ISP has assigned IPv6 addresses to the devices on my network (a simple home network) that are IPv6 capable. Can I leave IPv4 DHCP enabled and enable IPv6 for those devices that are capable to take advantage of IPv6? IOW run both concurrently. And if so, what option for IPv6 should I set?Share your Orbi 350, 750, 850 or 960 series system UpTime
Found on the routers and RBS IP address/debug.htm web page for best details, please post both RBR and RBS uptime. Please note of any inconsistencies between the RBR and RBS. Generally the RBR and RBS uptime should be same. Home wide power brown outs should be noted if these are seen. Thank you.High peaks latency Orbi RBR750
Hello Everybody, I want your advice fo what kind of settings I can tweak in my Orbi RBR750 as I'm experiencing a high latency ping peaks after every certain amount of seconds. Let me give a little background, recently I changed my ISP provider where they gave me the ONT and I was able to set it up as bridge mode and use my Orbi system as a main router, although I have some knowledge on network, I'm not a network admin or have the full picture, but I have seen a very high peaks of latency while playing videogames, while I was researching I found that every certain time I get those peaks, as a test I did a ping to Google DNS server 8.8.8.8 and this is the result I'm seeing: Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=40ms TTL=119 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=40ms TTL=119 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=41ms TTL=119 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=46ms TTL=119 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=44ms TTL=119 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=41ms TTL=119 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=41ms TTL=119 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=98ms TTL=119 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=41ms TTL=119 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=121ms TTL=119 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=41ms TTL=119 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=46ms TTL=119 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=40ms TTL=119 As you can see normally the milliseconds stays in 40's but suddenly it has peaks as shown above 98ms, 121ms After cancelling the ping the results are similar to this: Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 38ms, Maximum = 145ms, Average = 44ms With my previous ISP I didn't have this kind of issues, but I have to say that my previous ISP ONT was used as a main router as I didn't have the PPPoE credentials to make the orbi the main router, with this new provider I have the access to the PPPoE credentials and I was able to set the Orbi as the main router. With that being said, I'm thinking that probably I'm missing a configuration that probably the ONT has that could resolve the problem, but like I said before, I have some network knowledge but there are settings in the router that I don't really know what they area for, this is affecting online gaming, where I'm stable between 60-70ms and it suddenly has a peak to 120ms making games hard to play. Do you know of any setting that I could tweak and play with it and see if that helps to improve this situation? or do you think this is an issue from the ISP itself? Thanks for the help in advanceOlder system - no satellites
I have a six year old RBK752 system with one satellite (RBS750). I need now to reach a part of my house that wasn't necessary before...the signal gets through from the main router (satellite is very far in opposite direction) but in looking for additional satellite, they appear to be only used or reconfigured etc. So I am thinking about getting an extender that would strengthen the signal in that location. Any suggestions? All devices connected except my Arlo doorbell camera
I just installed a new Netgear Orbi RBS750 wifi mesh system. All devices connected except my Arlo doorbell camera. Worked with Arlo tech support, no luck there. Anyone come up with a solution or if anyone knows of another brand of door bell camera with works with a Netgear mesh router please advise.Odd RBR750 Netgear log behavior - a feature?
I recently upgraded my RBK753S setup from the really old V4.6.8.2_2.1.9 to V7.2.7.15_5.1.16. The upgrade went flawlessly. Everything is working just fine. There is only one thing that is different now and this may be a good thing. I email the logs to myself once an hour. I have all the items selected in the logs panel. I have noticed that the logs from the new firmware are consistently MUCH larger than the old logs. The increase in size is due to having MANY lines like this: [LAN access from remote] from 38.182.139.10 port 44456 to 192.168.0.7 port 443 Saturday, May 17,2025 11:18:15 I used to have these same lines in the old logs - it is just the new logs have many more. I do have an OpenVPN server running on a Fedora box at 192.168.0.7:443. I have that box registered in the Netgear Port Forward config. Any thoughts on why so many more entries in the log? This new behavior started the instant I upgraded the firmware. I know there are scanners out there and this pinging is "normal" - that is not my question. My question is why the Netgear is logging so many more with the latest firmware.Successful RBR750/RBS750 firmware upgrade from OLD firmware!
I wanted to share some great news about a simple, successful upgrade from V4.6.8.2_2.1.9 to V7.2.7.15_5.1.16. Yes, that old. I have been holding off on doing the upgrade to my Netgear Orbi RBK753S setup for a long time. Back in the day there was always a good chance that something would break doing an upgrade. Recently my wife's IPhone has been losing its connection so I decided to finally bite the bullet. I was fully prepared to do a factory reset and go from there given how old my firmware was. I decided to try the normal upgrade procedure first - seemed like there was no downside. I did the satellites first. One is wired and one is on wifi. Both upgraded seamlessly. I then did the upgrade on the Orbi. That completely worked perfectly! I had notes and screenshots of my previous configuration and everything was preserved. I don't have a super complicated setup. ~35 DHCP address reservations and 3 port forwards. The router has been up for several days and seems to be running perfectly. Good job Netgear! (Yes Furry - I have saved my configuration :-) )SolvedOrbi RBR 750 and VPN on MacOS
Hi, I have some issues setting up the VPN client on MacOS. On both my iPhone and my Windows computer it was very easy, but even when I use the suggested app TunnelBlick and import the non-windows configuration, my IP address does not change when connecting to my VPN. What am I doing wrong? Regards, Martin
