Yesterday after the outage my RBR 750 won't connect to the spectrum router therefore without internet. I followed the steps below and still did not help. Please suggest 1.) I did power cycle modem first then Orbi. Still no wifi. At this point wan port status was link/down with ip-addresss 0.0.0.0 2.) On the Orbi's DHCP side, I did the Computer MAC clone. Repeat step 1, Still no internet. 3.) Factory reset Orbi, and starting over from scratch. The very first step that tries to connect to internet fails. So I proceed setting up with out internet. 4.) Replaced with a brand new modem from spectrum and repeat step 3. Still no internet. 5.) Manually updated Orbi firmware to the latest 7.2.8.5 and repet step 1, still no internet. Orbi stays purple. But at this point I see the WAN port status reads as 1000/FULL. Earlier it was link/down. We made some progress. But WAN ip-addresss still reading 0.0.0.0 6.) As temp solution I hooked up to the modem to another router tplink be3600 first and from its lan I connected to the Orbi s WAN. Viola, Orbi is back in business. Modem hooks up to everything in the world except the Orbi after the outage. Like wise Orbi also. Spectrum did replace provision the router even that didn't help at some point, even that didn't help. Need help and fix this to have Orbi talk to the modem again like it was before the outage. Thanks in advance.SXR80 router receives at 2.5 Gbps, transmits under 1.0 Gbps - wireless and ethernet ports.
So I just upgraded to 2.0 Gbps fiber internet service (from 1.0 Gbps). I connect from the provided Nokia ONT to my Orbi router. But when connecting a client -- wired via Orbi's ethernet ports, or wireless -- I can achieve no more than 950 Mbps. This is the same as before. To troubleshoot: I plugged the ONT directly into my MacBook Pro and consistently got 2.2 to 2.3 Gbps. Furthermore, the Orbi itself registers 2.1 to 2.2 Gbps incoming and outgoing directly to the ONT, when testing using the Netgear Insight app. I then tested the output of the Orbi, using Cat 6E and by placing the laptop within 2 feet of the Orbi router. The speed dropped dramatically. The MacBook is fully capable of higher speed both WiFi and wired. Are there settings that are throttling down the output speeds of the Orbi router? Thank you.I have one RBR750 and two RBS750 Satellites.
I have one RBR750 and two RBS750 Satellites. They are currently running on firmware code V7.2.7.15_5.1.16. Netgear support page states that there are two newer releases. I have my devices set to perform "auto" updates but, they do not upgrade to the newer versions. When I run the "Check" for upgrade I get a response that no upgrade is available. I have opened a ticket with support but no response on why yet. On a side note I have open multiple tickets lately so far, I am confused on the level of responses. Does anyone have an insight on how to escalate a ticket? I am not sure that Netgear understands that the quality of your technical support impacts future sales.random loss of wifi
Hi everyone, I have one RBR750 and 2 RBS750. I am working from home and my son is playing video games, so none of us like it when wifi suddenly drops and then a few minutes later the satellite blinks blue and wifi is back up again. It was happening already a few months ago and this - RBS750 Satellite Disconnecting at random times | NETGEAR Communities - fixed it until a new version came up. I hoped it fixed the issue but it doesn't. Should I really go back to the old version (without the security fix that came in the meantime)? My RBR750 is running V7.2.7.15 and both my RBS750 are also running V.7.2.7.15. My house is 970 square feet. The RBR is on one side (that's where I can plug it to my modem RJ45, and then one satellite is in the middle, and the last satellite is on the other side of the house. I'll very much appreciate your help! Is there any way to collect logs and clearly identify what's the root cause?SolvedInterference with Vehicle Backup Camera
I have anOrbi 750 with 3 satellites around the house. Approx 2500 sq ft house on one acre. Router in one corner, satellite in another corner, satellite in garage (in a triangle configuration) and one satellite in a shed. Xfinity 1 gig wifi. All stations are at least 40 ft apart. Works well but it is causing interference with a wireless backup up camera in my vehicles. The camera transmit in the 2.4 Ghz band. No problems when the vehicle is in the garage, right next to the satellite, but outside around the house, it causes interference when in use. Buffering and such. Looking for suggestions on how to fix. I have worked tirelessly with the camera company and all their suggestions including changing camera systems out. I have tried moving the channels on the Orbi in the 2.4 Ghz band (a couple times, not each channel) I know it is the wifi system causing the interference as I have unplugged the router and it works fine. Any thoughts on what to try next? With 3 satellites and the router, am I over modulating? I have 11 Ring cameras around the house and shed. That is why I have so many satellites. Along with many other 2.4Ghz devices. Thank youSolvedRBR750 speed cut in half with BGW320
I have searched the forum looking for a possible answer and have not found any good hits yet. I have my RBR750 directly connected to a BGW320-500 with cat6 and my download speed seems to get cut in half. I am getting 1GB to the BGW320 speed tests verify that. But even when I stand right next to the Orbi router I usually only get around 500Mbps down when I use Speedtest. There was one time I did get 800 down which was a surprise and never got that close again. I have both wifi's turned off and I am in passthrough mode on the BGW320. My RBR750 is set to router mode. Is there something I am possibly missing or is this pretty much all I can expect with the RBS750? Thanks for any tips I may be missing.I have the RBR750 along with the BGW320 as the modem
Hi... I am having similar issues with my set up. I have the RBR750 along with the BGW320 as the modem. For WiFi I am not getting more than 180 mbps for both upload and download speeds on any of my devices. Even when I'm right next to the router. I've tried both 2 and 3 methods and still same results. 2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode. 3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. Is there something that I am not doing to the modem correctly? The "configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost" isn't something that I am familiar with doing. When I run speed tests to the modem it is getting 1000 mbps for both upload and download.RBR750/RBS750 Backhaul Problem
I have the RBK753 which contains a router and 2 satellites. I live in a 3 bed semi-detached home. On the ground floor I have the router. On the first floor in the nursery, I have a satellite (about 20ft away from router and it has to go through wooden floor). I then have the nursery satellite connected to a satellite in the attic via ethernet. The attic is fully soundproofed with multiple layers in walls and floor. My hope was the router would connect to the nursery satellite wirelessly. Then the nursery to the attic via wired connection. What is happening is the router is connecting to the attic wirelessly (poor connection) and then the attic is connecting to the nursery (wired). I reduced the power on 2.4 and 5Ghz on all devices in the hope that it would force the router to connect to the closer nursery satellite but this is not the case, still the same connection order. I've attached some screenshots, any ideas how I can force it to connect to the closer satellite - thanks.
