I am experiencing a strange problem. I have been an Orbi user and for many years. My setup is an AT&T BGW320 gateway and my RBR760 with 2 RBS760 satellites connected to it in router mode. No bridging or IP passthrough I just have the Orbi running on it's own network with it's own IP range 10.0.0 with my BGW320 on 192.168.1 Just recently if I unplug and replug the Ethernet cable or reboot the 760 it loses internet connection. I can access the web gui interface but it says no internet connection. If I reset and reinstall the 760 then all works fine again and it will continue to do so until the next reboot. Over the years I have rebooted, reset, unplugged and re-plugged ethernet cables and never experienced this issue. What could be causing this all of a sudden?Problem with satellite
When I use speedtest.net on my laptop beside my main RBR750P router, I get a download speed of ~500 Gbps, which is what I am paying for. At my satellite, 30-40 feet away (two walls) it drops to 1-6 Gbps. Any ideas why? Are there any internal tests or checks I can do to help diagnose this? How can I be sure whether my phone or computer is connected to the main or satellite router? Also, is there a way to determine the router speed (main and/or satellite) from the web interface? thanks for any help.SolvedRBS750 Firmware Won't Upgrade
Hello. I picked up an additional Orbi satellite second hand, an RBS750 to go with my RBR750 and an existing satellite. Needed to extend coverage in the house. The satellite is stuck on firmware V4.6.14.93. My own RBR and satellite are on 7.2. It's connected to the mesh without a problem, it's synced and working fine. I've tried updating the firmware on the satellite, and have had no luck. I've done it via the Web UI, using the Manual Firmware update on WiFi, then tried using Wired LAN, nothing. It keeps saying the firmware upgrade failed and I should "check my update file". I'm getting the firmware files from Netgear's official KB. It's really odd, it's been documented that 4.x to 7.x updates have been an issue and hence a manual updates have been required, which is what I'm trying - but it's still failing. Also, tin-foil hat, but I can't find firmware V4.6.14.93 for the RBS750 anywhere. Since I picked it up second-hand, hoping it's not some kind of custom firmware up to no good. Has anyone had any similar issues, and have you found a solution? Any ideas?RBR750 Boot Loop - White Light Flashes Then Goes Dark, TFTP Recovery Failing
RBR750 Boot Loop - White Light Flashes Then Goes Dark, TFTP Recovery Failing Device: Orbi RBR750 (Serial: 6661037RA0169, Firmware was V7.x, Purchased April 2020) Problem: Router powers on, white light flashes for about 1 minute then all lights go off completely. Unit is in a permanent boot loop and cannot complete startup. What I've tried: Factory reset (holding reset button during white flash window) TFTP firmware recovery via ethernet from Mac Studio — file RBR750-V7.2.8.5.chk — unit responds to ping at 192.168.1.3 but TFTP times out with "didn't receive answer from remote" Accessed 192.168.1.1 but it routes to upstream Netgear router not Orbi Tried orbilogin.com, orbilogin.local, 10.168.168.1, 192.168.1.3 — none load admin page Mac internet sharing enabled (WiFi to Ethernet) to provide internet source to Orbi during recovery attempt Current setup during recovery attempt: Mac Studio ethernet → Orbi yellow WAN port Mac on WiFi via backup Netgear R7000 Mac ethernet set to static IP 192.168.1.2 Orbi responds to ping consistently but web interface unreachable Question: Is there a specific TFTP timing window or alternate recovery method for RBR750 that could help? Any known firmware corruption fix for this boot loop pattern?SolvedGuest Wifi network stuck on old DNS configuration Orbi RBR750 in AP mode
Hello everyone, I'm running into a strange DNS issue on my Orbi setup and I'm hoping someone here can help. My setup: Main router: Freebox Pop (ISP router in France) Orbi RBR750 configured in Access Point (AP) mode Two RBS750 satellites The problem: I recently updated the DNS configuration on my Freebox Pop (changing my NextDNS profile and migrating to a self-hosted AdGuard instance). The new DNS settings are correctly applied and working on the main Wi-Fi network, all devices resolve DNS through the updated configuration as expected (192.168.1.2 or Cloudflare, as pictured). However, the Guest network on my Orbi system seems to be stuck on the old NextDNS configuration. Devices connected to the Guest SSID still resolve through the previous DNS settings, and the change from the upstream router is not being reflected at all. This is surprising since the RBR750 is in AP mode and should simply pass DNS through from the Freebox. Again, this only happens on the Guest network, the main network works perfectly. What I've already tried: Rebooting the Orbi RBR750 and both RBS750 satellites Rebooting the Freebox Pop Rebooting my iPhone (test client) Disabling and re-enabling the Guest network on the Orbi Changing the Guest network's name Changing the DNS settings on the Freebox multiple times Flushing the DNS cache on my Mac None of these have had any effect, the Guest network continues to use the old DNS configuration. Has anyone encountered this before? Is there some kind of cached DNS configuration specific to the Guest network on Orbi devices (even in AP mode) that I need to clear manually? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pictures attached for illustration. Thanks in advance!SolvedRBR750/RBS750 Firmware Question
Hi All, Have the RBR750/RBS750 system. The Orbi app does not work on my Android phone, just a white screen. Support stated my firmware is not up to date on my systems, so probably that is why app is failing to connect. I've been doing the firmware check for months now and it comes up with no update available. Currently the devices are at v4.6.11.1. Supported pointed me to the page to manually download and install the latest version 7.2.8.5. The question, will I have any issues jumping from where I am now to the latest version? Or do I incremental upgrades starting from the current version which would be 10 updates? Appriciate the assistance. Thanks!SolvedThe RBS will not go to solid white
I'm having the same problem, only to add frustration, the RBS will not go to solid white, after reset connected to computer via ethernet with RBR turned off, it flashes white for a while, and then glows solid pink. I've done all variables of the reset process. At one point earlier I was actually inside the RBS and tried to update, but it said update failed! I used downloaded firmware file RBS750-V7.2.8.5.chk. Any ideas would be very appreciated, I don't just want to throw out my two satellites!SolvedLevel Connect hub keeps disconnecting from RBR750 network
I have an RBR750 and three satellites that make up my mesh network. I recently added a Level Connect hub so I can actually do anything with my lock when out of Bluetooth range. Setup works fine but then the hub intermittently goes offline. According to Level the issue is with 2.4Ghz vs 5 GHz, and suggested disabling band steering to keep it on 2.4GHz (I've had similar problems with a Eufy indoor camera): https://level.co/support/articles/level-connect-cannot-join-or-loses-connection-to-network/ From what I can tell there's no option to do that in the current Orbi web interface. Any suggestions on how to get to the hub to work consistently with my setup? And not sure if it's related, but I'm having the same issue as described in this thread. Two of my satellites are not on the latest firmware and report a model of RBS750QV.Reconvergence?
I have a 3 node RBR750 network. The router is connected to my ISP router (A), one node is at my server rack (B) and the last node is in my office connecting my pcs (C). I have a ups on the router and ISP gear. This morning, that ups died, taking the Orbi router (A) and ISP gear off line. Naturally that meant no Internet connectivity. But was odd was that I could not access my servers (B) from my office PC (C). I was always under the impression that everything was meshed, that is A connected to B, B to C and C to A. In this case, A to B and A to C would be down, but B to C should have still been up. This morning's behavior seems to suggest that the topology is A to B and A to C, but nothing B to C.
