Correct. Though in my experience you can ignore the advice in their app to connect your phone to 2.4g. I've omstalled several cameras with no issues.
Is the doorbell still in your Arlo account? Or did you remove it? Is this the AVD1001 or is it the AVD2001?
A: It is no longer in the Arlo app, but it is showing in the Orbi app, button greyed out, other devices are green dots. It is AVD1001.
That is the funny thing, the Orbi app logged it in the device list when going thru the Arlo set up, but it won't work.
While Orbi does use a single SSID, some models let you control power for each band. If yours has that feature, you can turn down the power on the other channels to "encourage" the phone to connect to 2.4 g.
A: I am sort of tech savy but not familiar with what you mentioned or where to look for it. The box says " Tri band" and lists 2.4 g.
Also, if you still have the old router, you can temporarily switch back to it, and set it up to use the same network name/password as the Orbi. Then reinstall the doorbell, and switch back to the Orbi.
A: I still have the old router Linksys 1900. I used an extender too to reach the door bell. That sounds confusing what you suggested I try. I was going to look for another brand of doorbell camera that has a working track record with mesh and Netgear Orbi. Do you know of another brand I could buy ?
That would be easier.
and a P/S, I have a "Kuna" porch light with a hidden camera built into it. It connected no problem. //
