Disastrous RBR750 ping spikes - help please

Recently bought RBR750 Orbi (WiFi 6 Router AX4200) mesh with two satelites. Coverage and speeds are great but having massive ping spikes (up to 1500ms) every 10-20 seconds which are making my online...

"- Distance between router and 1st satellite: 16ft" 16 feet is too close. 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

    Router and 1st satellite are connected via cable, this should not have an impact imo.

      Regardless of connection of the RBS, distance is too close. 

      Is the RBS directly connected to the back of the RBR or is there a switch in between? 
      What is the quality of the LAN cable used between the RBR? CAT#?

        Yes, RBS is directly connected to RBR. The cable used is Cat5E.
