Everything the same except I wired the satellites as the house has ethernet cabling. I'll try as wireless and see if that helps.

Was a new setup performed, or were the router and satellites just "plugged in".
That is an important question. If you haven't done that already, reset and reconfigure the network and then change the SSID / Password to your preferred settings.
