I automatically got this upgrade lastnight

I automatically got this upgrade lastnight. I woke up seeing my orbi thats in the bedroom flashing white and noticing many things had lost connectivity to the network. After many hours of rebooting the orbis, powering them off for 5 minutes, powering them on in different orders, nothing solved the problem. Some devices on the lan worked perfectly, some devices on the wireless network worked but just barely. They actived very unstable, sometimes not being able to connect to the internet.

I re-enabled WMM on my 2.4ghz network and it seemed to resolve most of the devices connectivity issues strangely. I had it disabled as I have a very large number of smart bulbs/strips, and I previously had to disable WMM in order for them to remain stable. It seems after the update WMM being off is very unstable.

After this stabilized most of the smart devices in the house, my LG C1 TV would report it had no internet connectivity. I could still control it over the LAN but it wouldn't access youtube or anything on the internet. I then remembered I had setup a list of blocked lg addresses that are known to show ads/content on the LG Home Screen which worked very well up until the update. Now with any list of blocked sites, the tv completely loses internet activity. I had to remove all blocked addresses from the blocked list to even let the TV access youtube.

To me it seems, because these were working 100% stable before the update but not after, there must be some bugs in the new firmware that could be resolved in the next update.

  • You didn't provide some important information for folks to offer assistance -

    - What update did you get? What's the new version number? What version were you on?

    - What model of Orbi is the router?

    - How many satellites are there, and what model are they?

    - Can you confirm that the satellite(s) and router on the same version of firmware now?

Cheers for the reply. Some details of my setup below.

      - What update did you get? What's the new version number? What version were you on? My three orbis got upgraded to version 7.2.6.21. I believe before this they had some version in the 4.x range, I can't remember the exact version number.

      - What model of Orbi is the router? It's an RBR750.

      - How many satellites are there, and what model are they? Two RBS750, connected together using cat6 wiring layed around the walls of the house.

      - Can you confirm that the satellite(s) and router on the same version of firmware now? Yes all are on the same firmware now.

Does anyone know if WMM and/or the way site blocking works in this new version which may have caused my issues. In any case the three orbis being upgraded shouldn't result in the orbis needing to be reboot in a specific order in order to get them to connect to eachother. There must be some improvements to prevent the need for very specific reboot order that so many posts say is necessary.

        WMM should always be enabled.

Only recommended item to do on the system after the FW has been applied is a power OFF of the system for 1 minute then back ON. If you do see issues beyond this, a factory reset and setup from scratch will be needed.
