I have a similar issue with my RBR850 but I'm on V7.2.6.21
flyingdutchgeek I have a similar issue with my RBR850 but I'm on V7.2.6.21, wired backhaul and every time I look at the satellite its either magenta, white and blue. I disabled the firmware update...

Mines been good as it's currently online.
There are known issues with newest generation Android and Apple devices with BE systems. Something NG is working with them and chipset mfrs on.
Is the 850 series your only router system currently?

Caught me just in time. I was in the parking lot to buy the 770 and got your reply....phew. Not supporting latest is biggy.
RBk850 is my only router system. Can't find a RBS850 to replace my satellite...nobody carries new units in 2-packs, just 3-packs locally.
oh well

So you feel the RBS are faulty?
Try checking ebay or shopgoodwill for used ones? I bought a nice set off off goodwill about a year ago.

I saw refurbed on eBay and Amazon but I’m investing 400$ into something that “might” be the problem. No tools with Orbi so hard to tell. I look at the $400 as a discount in new:)
why I think it’s the satellite:
only the RBS fails
fails wired or wireless
Disconnected anything physically wired to RBS and still fails
fails on three different versions of FW
fails after multiple factory resets

And how many other RBS do you have? I presume they don't fail?
Something to try and see, do a 30-30-30 reset on this one RBS that is failing. Then with all the other RBS turned OFF, use the RBS web page ADD Satellite feature to add this one RBS to the system wirelessly. Do this with the RBS in same room or near the RBR, say 10-12 feet away. If you can get the RBS to sync fully, place it back into the nearest remote location and let it run wirelessly for a bit. Leave any other RBS OFF for now.
Might look for a RBS 350 or 750 if you can't find any 850s out there. I see those are compatible with the RBR850: https://kb.netgear.com/000065169/Which-Orbi-routers-and-satellites-are-compatible
