Internet dropping
Hello everyone,
I'm new to the Netgear Orbi world and am having an issue where the internet drops and it might take 10-20 minutes to restore on its own. Not seeing a pattern other than when it drops the internet is out for ages. Note connection seems fine, still connected to the network. Internet itself it seems also be fine from trouble shooting.
Not claiming to be any expert here and expect the issue to be around some configuration setting. Everything is local, not using cloud services.
Configuration includes:
• ISP modem in bridge mode tethered to Orib RVB7500
• Synology tethered to an Orbi Satellite.
• Reserved IPs (albeit most are assigned on respective device.) Only about 8 devices atm.
• DNS experiments include using known DNS numbers such as google's 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
• DNS does seem to work a little better than having ISP assigned mode.
Options:
• There is a static ip from provider (do not know it, but that might help for IP field)
Unclear if related:
• Unable to add a single IOT device to Apple Home (Homekit)
• Have a Linksys Velop network (previous network) still in place until knowing how to get IOT on Orbi. Worth noting that disconnecting and powering down Velop made no change.
Port Forwarding:
One port is forwarded (maybe should be triggered, not used often and mostly disabled)
Adding screenshots for most areas - maybe I'm missing something obvious...well, can only upload one image apparently....

I think you mean 2.4 ghz
What happens when you try to add a device to the IoT network SSID?
If you are using an app to onboard the device, you might need to make sure your phone is also connected to the IoT device during the install.

Yes, 2.4.
Using apple home app to add devices.
manufacture onboarding does the sane part way through the process.

Are you getting the address from the ISP gateway using DHCP?

How is that connected to your network? A LAN port of the ORBI? Or some other way?
I think you mean Homekit, not IoT - if that is the case, the Velop can be added to homekit, but the Orbi cannot be. That said, you should be able to add your other devices to homekit when they are connected to the Orbi.
As far as IoT goes, the 750 does have an IoT network you can use if you wish.
