Issue connecting pc to satellite via ethernet

Hi All

Everything had been working fine for years and suddenly my pc cannot connect anymore to my Orbi RBS350 satellite via Ethernet.

Some details:

- Computer can connect via ethernet to the base

- Computer cannot anymore connect via ethernet to the satellite (used to work well, didn't change anything)

- Other devices can connect via ethernet to the satellite

- PC can connect to base or satellite via wifi

- I have upgrade both the base and satellite to the latest firmware, no good. I have then moved back the satellite to the previous firmware, no good.

- In the admin page of the base, I don't see the pc when connected to the satellite via ethernet.

- In the admin page of the satellite, I do see the pc connected via ethernet, with a local IP given by DHCP in the base.

The only potential trigger events I could be thinking about:

- I added nordvpn weeks ago (and it has been working fine before the problem described above).

- I added a new LG TV to my wifi.

Other than that, nothing, no driver update or whatever.

I tried to reset the satellite to its factory settings with a pin held on its reset button in the back until it blinks amber. But after some time it reconnects by itself to the base (so it looks like it's just a reset and not a factory reset that would break the sync with the base?).

Any idea how to solve this please?

Thank you

  • Just solved the problem:

In the admin page of the router, Basic > Internet > Routeur MAC Address. "Use Computer MAC Address" was selected.

I switched to "Use Default Address" and the computer directly reconnected to the network.

Then I switched back to "Use Computer MAC Address" and it keeps working.

Interesting bug with the router... to put it politely!

    Best
