LG TV appears as a satellite, won't connect as Wi-Fi endpoint
I have an Orbi model RBR750 with one satellite, and I have a connection problem. The main problem is that the LG TV cannot connect to Orbi's Wi-Fi network. The second thing, which is an observation, is that on Orbi's network map, the LG TV appears as a satellite (connected to the actual Orbi satellite). So I'm puzzled as to why Orbi thinks the TV is a satellite, and I suspect it could be related to the problem of the TV connecting to Orbi's Wi-Fi network. Is there a way to tell Orbi that the TV is not a satellite? I would like to try that and see if I can then get the TV to connect to the Wi-Fi network.
I don't have any answer for the app's inaccurate network map. I usually ignore it and just rely on the list of network devices via the orbilogin.com admin website.
To help connect your TV, try setting your CTS/RTS Threshold to 2347 to maximize compatibility with older wireless devices:
- Go to the web admin portal at http://orbilogin.com/
- Click to the Advanced tab, Advanced left menu, Wireless Settings
- Set CTS/RTS Threshold to 2347 for both 2.4hz and 5Ghz networks
- Press Apply
See if that helps. If problems still persist, next try disabling AX mode for the 2.4Ghz band:
- Go to http://orbilogin.com/
- Click to the Advanced tab, Setup left menu, Wireless Setup
- Uncheck "Enable 2.4G" under the top Enable AX section
- Press Apply

Thanks for your help. Changing the CTS/RTS Threshold fixed the problem. It's connecting now.
The LG TV still shows as a satellite, but that doesn't bother me as long as it connects.
Glad you got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Enjoy. 📡
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
