Local Loopback RBR350?

Local loopback isn’t available on a RBR350, is this correct?  current running the lastest firmware.  If so when will Netgear install this into their firmware.

Not having this available is like working in IT in the 80s…. I just don't under why it isn’t available on ALL of their routers from day one.

I like my Orbi but starting to dislike it because of STUPID decisions to leave a basic function out of the firmware, it’s 2023 people!

  • Hi CrimpOn,

    It's fixed!.

The PORT FORWARDING was forwarded to the server IP with TCP only, changed it to TCP&UDP and suddenly i was able to access the website and the security cameras. Seems like I was mistaking about Orbi and it's abilities.

What a strange way of doing it!...  you agree?

    Thanks

    Brad

  • There was a discussion in 2021 regarding NAT Loopback ("hairpinning").  It did not specifically mention the RBR350.

    https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-Wi-Fi-5-AC-and-Orbi-with/NAT-loopback-on-Orbi/m-p/2153874#:~:text=NAT%20Loopback%20is%20an%20integral,public%20IP%20address%20is%20172.249.

It's not a basic function that should be expected to be in any router.

Could you explain more about how it was determined that the RBR350 does not support NAT Loopback?

I, also, find it really frustrating that Netgear changes features from one model to another without notice or explanation.  I would not be surprised this happened with the RBR350.  Alas, I have no RBR350 to experiment with.

        No.

A classic case of posing the wrong question.

Tell people what you want to achieve – "access the website and the security cameras". Don't ask why your solution – "local loopback isn’t available" – doesn't work.
