You are one lucky dude. As Phyber remarked, the recommended practice is to manually update satellites first and the router last. Perhaps the Automatic Firmware Update option was enabled and caused the satellites to be updated without specific action on your part.

I don't know how that happened. I am kinda guessing that the satellites are reporting incorrectly, or the router is reporting them incorrectly. The auto update is turned off. I did not tick the satellite tickbox on the router update page.
Anyway, I just manually updated the satellites, just in case. I will update satellites first from here on.
