New Firmware Update RBR850 / RBS850 Firmware Version 3.2.17.12

Go here to download (be sure and manually update your satellite (RBS) FIRST before updating the router (RBR)):

To be sure all new features are active reset your satellite and router by using the recessed reset button (hold in till you see flashing amber) and reconfigure from scratch (do not use any backup file for this process).

    Since factory resets are such an integeral part of the Orbi, I wonder why Netgear hasn't implemented a  software-based capability to do this and carry user configurations forward.

     

    Seems like this would be easy to code and implement. 

     

    I am always hesitant to factory reset due to erasing & having to manually reenter port forwarding and reserved IP space configurations.

      Agreed, a PITA and should be unnecessary. The GUI firmware update doesn't do a full reset.
