New Orbi RBR860B disconnects at random intervals
Current config RBR860B with 1 satellite
Home size: 1800sq ft indoors
Space between Router and Satellite: ~45 feet up an open staircase through an open hall and through one doorway
Channels: 2.4 - Auto, 5 - 40
Neighbors: 100+ft away next home over
Firmware: 7.2.6.21_5.0.20
We bought the Orbi860B 3-pack last week so we could have coverage through our home as well as in our garage and on our back patio if wanted. We ran through the configuration and updated firmware on the one satellite as well as the router per instructions (satellite first, router second), setup it up to match our old DHCP scope so we wouldn't have to reset our smart device. We noticed we were dropping at random intervals and going to a flashing white light on both the router and the satellite every time. It could be 2 minutes, 2 hours, 7 hours, the longest time uptime was a little over 9 hours.
I read through the forums that recommended trying to roll back a firmware, so I did this as well but still had the same issues..
I reached out to Spectrum to verify that our modem and connection were solid, they confirmed, no disconnects in over 4 days on their side other than what synced up with the time we disconnected it for the Orbi setup. Just for sanity sake I had them send a new signal and it came through clean.
After new signal was set, and I had connection via laptop to the modem, I factory reset the router and set it back up. This stayed stable for an hour or so, so I factory reset the satellite and connected it with no issues. This time I let all the defaults stay and left everything disconnected but our phones and work laptops. 2 and a half hours after, the Orbi system disconnects, white light flashing for a couple of minutes on router and satellite and comes back up.
I'm opening as Netgear case as well to see if they have any insight but Internet research is not giving me high hopes. This has been going on for 5 days now. Looking to see if anyone has some insight.
Thanks
- We’re stable! For daaaaaaays now. Woo!

That is really amazing that you can put your face by one device and see the other device 45 ft. away. I would have expected the WiFi signal to pass through the floor. Very fortunate.
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.Does this happen with the RBS turned OFF?
Does this happen with both wireless and wired devices?
What channel configurations are currently set on the router?Try the RBS at 30 feet from the RBR.
Is IPv6 enabled or disabled on the RBR?
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Smart Parental Controls or Circle, Traffic Meter.Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended: Using CAT5, pretty sure I have a CAT6, I'll check if I have a CAT6ADoes this happen with the RBS turned OFF? I planned on testing this tonight, since I've seen it take as long as 9 hours to disconnect with the RBS connected.
Does this happen with both wireless and wired devices? The whole router looks to re-initialize according to the log so I'd presume so?, I'll attach a device and start a continuous ping as soon as I have a moment.
What channel configurations are currently set on the router? Channels: 2.4 - Auto, 5 - 40Try the RBS at 30 feet from the RBR. Will do and check-in.

This would be a Hitron branded model. There a mutligig port on the back of this modem by chance?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended: Using CAT5, pretty sure I have a CAT6, I'll check if I have a CAT6ACAT5 is only rated for 100Mpbs, so you might not get good signal thru this cable. Try CAT6 at least.

Let us know how this goes.
Does this happen with both wireless and wired devices? The whole router looks to re-initialize according to the log so I'd presume so?, I'll attach a device and start a continuous ping as soon as I have a moment. So front LED turns PINK when this happens?
What channel configurations are currently set on the router? Channels: 2.4 - Auto, 5 - 40Might try channel 1 and 40 if no neighbors that are close using it.
Try the RBS at 30 feet from the RBR. Will do and check-in.
