Orbi 6 and upgrade from DSL to Gigabit Fiber
I have an Orbi 6 AX4200 Base with 2 Satellites that are hard wired to the base station.
Recently we were able to upgrade from our old DSL connection to Gigabit Fiber. The fiber terminal (ONT) is an Adtran SDX611 GPON ONT.
Since the Orbi was originally set up when we had DSL, I'm considering doing a factory reset and setting it up again from scratch. I think somewhere Ii read that during the setup process, the Orbi analyzes the internet connection and adjusts certain settings, such as for QoS and maybe other parameters. I'm thinking the whole system may benefit from starting over.
That said, it works pretty well. My ethernet connected computer is getting 980 Mbps up and down, but my wifi devices are topping out at around 550 up and down. It's almost like the wifi is throttled.
Any advice if this is a good idea. I don't remember the setup as being especially difficult. If I do this, I assume that, given the ONT terminal mentioned above, the Orbi should be in router mode not AP mode.
Thanks for any suggestions.
If it ain't broke, don't "fix it." Yes, the Orbi must be in 'router mode'.

Most wifi devices may not see anything near 900Mpbs due to there design and support limiations. Especially 2x2 MIMO devices. 4x4 MIMO can see near that and over. IF your seeing that with your devices and this system, you good.

Try a power cycle of the system OFF for 1 minute then back on before a factory reset.
