Orbi 750 - Cannot find a device under "Attched Devices", although it is connected.

Hey Guys,

I have the Orbi RBR750 + 1 Satellite.

The setup is in AP mode since I have a FW as GW.

I can see my all of my devices and everything works perfectly, except - I connected a Shelly device a week ago and I cannot see in among the "Attached devices". Although it is connected to my network because i access it via my IP LAN but somehow it is not appeared as a device.

See the screenshot below - I do see my home network (I assume i see twice because 1 pair belong to the R and the other pair belongs to the S...??) and the Shelly got the IP of 15.

Please advise.

Thanks!

  • Congratulations.  You got a Shelly device to connect!  After seeing a complaint on the Forum, I bought a 2.5 in 2022, and had a devil of a time getting it connected.  Must have tried 50 times before suddenly "it worked".

My experience with the Orbi Attached Devices display has been frustrating.  I noticed one day that the Nest thermostat did not appear on the display.  Huh?  It's right there on the wall.  What I found after some experimentation was that unless the Nest smartphone app was actively connected to the thermostat, after about 5 minutes it would 'disappear'.  If I opened the app again, "it's back".

p.s. I did not realize that Shelly has a device that connects to both 2.4G and 5G WiFi.

One thing we often run into with Orbi systems in AP mode is the satellite being wired directly to the primary router, rather than being connected to the Orbi router with WiFi or to one of the Orbi LAN ports.

How is this Orbi system configured?

        Thanks for the quick reply!

It goes like this: ISP GPON > Forti FW WAN.

Forti FW LAN > Orbi R Internet port > Orbi S LAN port.

another port in the Orbi R goes to my HP switch where I have all the wired devices connected to.
