Orbi RBK760 with two satellites: What is the best NAS?

Question

I have an Orbi RBK760 with two satellites that I bought from Costco. I want to set up a NAS for auto back up of a desk top PC that is connected to the Orbi router via CAT cable and Windows laptops and Mac laptops (laptops via wireless).

* How does one do this? Is there a step by step description that a 5 year old could understand?

* What is the recommended NAS for this purpose? I don't think I'll ever need over 10-12 Tb of information. I would like to have at least a two bay device so I can run RAID mirrored drives.

I see a used Synology DS416 that is for sale locally that I could get for a good price, but it is probably 5 years old and I'm concerned about the software compatibility with my ORBI. I might just bite the bullet and buy a new two drive system.

Please help me get the right NAS so it can have up to 10 Tb capacity, do daily updates, and can update the CAT wired PC through the ORBI router as well as do wireless backups to MAC and Windows PC's.

I'm not exactly sure I want a Netgear NAS but I will post over there (I'm new here). I was wondering what people think of the Western Digital NAS in the above link.

Something to post on there forum to see what there users think. Not much users here regarding WD NAS.

Personally, I have two D-Link DNS-345s from years ago. Solid and stable and couldn't be happier. Just upgraded one of the to all 4Tb drives. They do what I want.&nbsp;

Thanks for the reply.&nbsp;Can you do wireless downloads to your DLink NAS by the ORBI's?&nbsp; &nbsp;I read somewhere that the ORBI does not allow the NAS to be detected on the wireless network.&nbsp; &nbsp;The wired network (desk top Windows PC) can see the NAS, but the Windows and MAC laptops could not be detected.&nbsp; &nbsp;I believe that this is when the NAS is connected to a satellite ORBI but I'm not sure if it is also true when the NAS is on the base ORBI.&nbsp;Do you know?

Ya I seen posts with users having NAS connected to the RBS.&nbsp;
I don't. Mines all connected behind the RBR and with Switches so I don't any problems from other connected devices. It's recommended to have NAS connected behind a router or with a switch behind the router. Best performances and connectivity and avoid problems.&nbsp;
