Orbi RBR750 Forwarding Ports

I am trying to figure out how to solve the double NAT problem on my gaming consoles and was wondering the best way to port forward for Orbi. I am using the RBS750 Orbi Satellite upstairs away from the main modem and RBR750.

Thank you!

  • Double NATs? What's the other one using NAT beside your Orbi's?

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? Built in router here by chance? if so, This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

    Couple of options,
    1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
    2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
    3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

My family uses an Xfinity modem/router
      Model:TG3482G
      Vendor:ARRIS Group, Inc.
Yes I have been on bridge mode and it has been better but I still get Double NAT I would say 1/4 times I test the NAT type on my xbox one S.
Thank you again for your response!

Setup a IP address reservation ON the RBR for the xbox when it ON. When you go save and apply the setting, hold the front power button on the xbox until it shuts OFF. Be usre uPnP is enabled on the RBR and no other port foward configurations are enabled. After the RBR has saved the change and rebooted, power ON the xbox. Check NAT status on the networking dashboard.
