Orbi RBR750 with RBS350 satellites

I bought this system from Amazon not really doing much research.  My problem is that one of my RBS350 satellites (I have two) doesn't stay synced/connected.  I believe it's due to it's location (it's a bit far away from the main router and the other sat).  I understand that the RBS750 is a MUCH better satellite (it better be for the cost).  My question is can I buy just one RBS750 and will it work with my existing RBR750 AND the RBS350's?  I would put the RBS750 at the furthest distance.

Thanks!!

  • Short answer: Yes, the RBS750 satellite is entirely compatible with the existing system.

Longer Response: 5G WiFi signals are really sensitive to (a) distance and (b) hidden obstacles in the path.  If the existing RBS350 satellite will not stay in sync, I am not confident that an RBS750 satellite will fare any better.  Can you describe more about the physical placement:

    • How far away is the RBS350 satellite?
    • What building structures, furniture, appliances, etc. lie in the path?

Many users have reported that moving WiFi units around a bit can dramatically affect performance.  (I was embarrassed one time to find that moving a satellite three feet made it work because there was a 1920's brick chimney hidden in the wall. Left over from when the home was heated with coal. Before it was converted to oil, and then converted again to natural gas.)

      Thank you for the reply.

My house is kinda broken up.  The RBR750 router is in the main part of the house that is about 2,800 square feet.  It works without issue in this area.  The first RBS350 satellite is in an area we call the "mud room".  I'd guess it's maybe 100ft away from the RBR750 and separated by only a interior wall .  This first satellite has no issues staying connected.  The second RBS350 is further away in a "bonus room" above the garage.  It is about 200 feet away from the main router and 100ft away from the first RBS350 (I thought the satellites are supposed to daisy chain, correct?) separated by two exterior walls (line of site) and an elevation (above garage).  This is the one that doesn't stay connected.  I once moved it down to the garage level and it was even worse at that location.  I was hoping that the RBS750 with it's longer range would do the trick.

100Ft would be to far in distance.
