Orbi RBR863 reboots, connection drops after recent firmware releases
The only firmware versions that work with my Orbi are V7.2.6.31_5.0.24 and previous versions. The latest firmware versions result in slow download speeds, random dropouts/disconnects, and reboots. I have tried updating one by one manually, then a pinhole reset, with the same results. However, version V7.2.6.31_5.0.24 is starting to show issues across my network, such as device disconnects and random restarts. I am wondering if anyone else is having these issues and, if so, how to fix them. The units I have are engineering samples; I have had them since before the 860s were released.

v7.2.8.5 FW is causing issues, so Wi-Fi starts having slow connections. Then, the RBR and both RBS just drop network connections and restart. I have tried most, if not everything, to fix the issue, such as manually changing Wi-Fi channels to different channels with the same result. Even disconnecting everything yields the same result. I even tried connecting via DHCP with the ISP-provided router with the same results. The property is roughly 5000 square feet over 2 floors: 6 to 12-inch brick walls on the first floor and 3 to 6-inch wood-framed walls on the second floor. My 2 RBS are hardwired. The only devices that use Wi-Fi in my home are smart devices, such as Amazon devices, mobile phones, and tablets. Everything else is via Ethernet through a Netgear SX10 switch. My ONT is a Calix GigaPoint GP1100G, and my ISP is Vodafone UK.

So v7.2.8.5 FW is causing issues?
What connection is dropping? WiFI Clients or ISP service?
What Brand and model# ISP modem/ONT do you have?
What channels are you using on the RBR?
Distance in between the RBR and RBS?
Size of home in sq feet please.
There is known issues with IPv6 on FW versions past v.31. Was recommended to disable ALL IPv6 protocols on systems running FW versions past v.31.
I have had my 960 series on line with v7.8.2.5 and is stable and solid. However I don't have natvie IPv6 support from the ISP so it's disabled for me.
Something to try on your 860 series with v.5 FW loaded.
My systems are manually loaded, power cycled, factory reset and setup from scratch for a good clean FW update and system setup.

I updated to the latest firmware, then ran a system capture for 1 minute. I am getting kernel errors across WLAN and daemon errors, so it looks like it's kernel panicking, then rebooting.

Is this happening with IPv6 enable or happening with the ONT connected to the RBR?
How are the RBS ethernet connected to the RBR? Directly behind the RBR or is there any LAN switch in between?
