ORBI Satellite in Wired Connection

Hello,

I have one ORBI RBR 850, two Satellites ORBI RBS 850 and one Satellite IRBI RBS 750.

The Satellites are connecting. One of my ORBI RBS 850 used the wired connection. As a matter of fact between the both Building is a AirBridge with Ubiquity NanoStation Loco M2, but the Satellite did not "know" that and it is recognised as wired connection. It works fine.

My other RBS850 is connected via WiFi, as it should me.

My problem is with the ORBI RBS750. It is in a third Building, again via an AirBridge. But it all the time want to use WiFi, what cause a very poor Connection. I am not able to force it to use the wired connection.

On the Master side, the NanoStation are connected to the first and second Ethernet Port of the ORB RBR 850.

But the AirBridge is working. When I connect a Laptop or another Device via Ethernet, it is definitely connected.

I switch already all cables, resets and resync the Satellite multiple times via WiFi to the ORBI RBR850 (by bringing it in my Home). Based on experience and documentation, the RBS750 should switch to a Wired Connection after around 8 minutes or so - but that never happened.

All have the latest Firmware (V7.2.6.21)

I am running out of ideas. Any suggestions?

I never will understand, why Netgear did not allow that I can force a Satellite to use a Wired connection. Easy Setup is nice, but sometimes it did not work.

  • If the RBS750 is wanting to wirelessly sync to the RBR and not use the ethernet connection thru the Airbridge path, this means this path is not working correctly for the ethernet to the RBS to work right. Something on this path is blocking good traffic flow between the RBR and RBS. So the RBS will revert to wirelessly connecting. Something even if you could force it, would not work since something in the path is blocking or not working right.

Test this out by connecting the RBS750 directly to the back of the RBR850 and see if it connects wired there.

Be sure FW version on the 750 is same as what's loaded on the rest of the system.
