Orbi won't connect to Fiber optic modem by Kinect (Windstream)
Need help! Windstream tech guy came over today to mount a fiber optic modem from Kinect. We have an Orbi RBR 50 with one satellite that we have been using for years. When everything was set up and ready to go, we could not get connected to the internet. It's the same message "connected without internet". I have tried so many power cycles, factory resetting and nothing has fixed the issue. I'm tempted to delete my orbi account through the app and then recreating it and registering it again, essentially making everything "new".
Anyone have any advise as to what I could do? Any help is much appreciated!

Looking for information about:
- How does a customer determine if the fiber network terminator (ONT) is working correctly?
- What type of Internet does Windstream provide? (DHCP? PPPoE? etc.)
- Is a user name and password required?
- Does Windstream typically provide a WiFi router in addition to the fiber termination device?
What I would do is connect a computer directly to the Kinect box with an Ethernet cable and "see if it works". If a computer connected directly to the box does not work, then no router is likely to get a connection.
(Ordinarily, one would think the tech would have done this, run a Speed Test, showed it to the customer, and said, "See. It's working at the speed you contracted for.")
This is becoming awkward because so many people have no computer or laptop in the house with an Ethernet port.
(I have a box full of Ethernet to USB dongles that I use to connect smartphones, tablets, and one laptop with no Ethernet port. But I am a total nerd.)
Maybe if you call Windstream, they can point you to a web site with support information?
