Orbie RBR750 mesh system connection problems
I have an Orbi mesh system RBR750 and I cannot attach it to my NBN arris CM8200 directly. I need to go through my ISP’s router first?
So ARRIS to Exetel Router, then ethernet cable to the orbie. Then it works, I can connect to the orbie or the Exetel router.
This doesn’t seem right?
Also, my wife’s work laptop will not connect to the orbie and if it does it is as slow as dial up.
Please give me some ideas, my office systems guys said it could be her works fire wall. She is a contractor and has had 3 contracts in the past 4 years and all the laptops she brings home are the same, very slow.
I do remember the connection was ok before we got the orbie. I have taken it out of the loop, and it is still the same.
All our other computers and my “work laptop’ that runs Zscaler firewall is fine. All our other home computers are fine.
Any ideas.?
Thanks john

The Orbi router should be able to connect directly to the CM8200 modem. The key is that NBN (Australia) may not be "plug and play" as in many parts of the world. See, for example, this discussion of connecting an Orbi router to NBN:
It would probably be a good idea to start with a call to NBN technical support to ask for advice on how to connect a customer router directly to the CM8200 modem.
