Outdoor Wi-Fi with RBR850

Question

I have an Orbi environment. One RBR850 and four RBS850 satellites. I need to extend my Wi-Fi network outside further than these indoor units cover to support some security cameras. What options will work and is there a “best” option?

In a previous generation of Orbi I used an RBRS50Y outdoors. But it is not compatible with the RBR850.

I am using a&nbsp; RBS750 in a weatherproof box with my Orbi 852 and it works great.&nbsp; RBS750&nbsp; was used instead of a RBS850 due to the price

RBS50Y is compatible if you load up the Extender mode FW on the RBS50Y.&nbsp;

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft? What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)?

Thank you for this very useful suggestion! &nbsp;I had not thought of this. &nbsp;It looks like a good option. &nbsp;Only concern I have is what happens to the strength of the wi-fi signal given it is inside the box?

If the box is not metal, signal should now be degraded badly. Should be good.&nbsp;
