Packet loss and inconsistent speeds with RBR850/RBS850. Have tried firmware, cables, etc.

Looking for some help with my Orbi 850 Series AX6000. We've got one router and one satellite. I've had flawless performance with our system up until a week ago. Since then, my kids and I have been having game breaking lag which appears to be related to packet loss when playing online games like Fallout 76, World of Tanks, Fortnight, etc. I'm seeing 10-18% packet loss when plotting to Wargaming server and the same when using a test server in LA. Speed tests are also wildly inconsistent. Wired directly to the modem I see a beautiful 1G up and down. Through the router it's speed tests show anywhere from 4mb/s to 102mb/s.

This is both hardwired into the router and through WiFi.

Hardwiring a computer directly into our fiber modem gives ZERO issues and is perfect. This is 100% isolated to our router.

We've tried:

-Updating the router and satellite firmware. Went to .31 and now running .21 and still having issues.

-Tried cat5, cat5e, and cat6 cables to no avail.

-Have done a full factory reset with the router.

I'm at a loss of what else to try. I can only assume something has gone wrong in our RBR850.

The system was purchased December of 2020 so well out of warranty.

  • If nothing changed on the Orbi system until you updated FW, it may not be Orbi related.

Have you factory reset the router and RBS and setup from scratch after you downgraded the system back to v.21?
There has been many posts about v.31 causing problems.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

Does this happen with the RBS turned OFF?
What channel configurations are currently set on the router?

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, IPv6, Smart Parental Controls or Circle, Traffic Meter.
