Purchased an RBK 852 set the other day and it dropped Internet 3 times in the same day
I'm following this and curious to hear your results. I purchased an RBK 852 set the other day and it dropped Internet 3 times in the same day. It was still serving Wifi and the LAN without issues and no errors showing on the app. House is a two storey reasonable size (3500sqft?)and satellite and router in a good distance to each other and reporting good backhaul.
I'm using an older TG799 modem in bridge mode- VDSL2 - FTTN. I have to admit I was starting to have Internet dropouts on my previous Google Nest- but I never lost VDSL sync on the modem using these or the Google nest units. Google nest was lasting about a week before drop off but these units 3 times in 9 hours means they are not being used right now. I have updated the firmware to the new version 4.6.8.2 from this forum and will be trying them again probably tomorrow.
I will be using a bridged NF18ACV this time with the latest firmware that has SOS and ROC as the TG799 is too old for this. I don't think that caused the issue as the TG799 always stayed synced
The internet drop could be fixed without rebooting the RBR by simply removing the cable between the bridged modem and RBR and plugging it back in again. I'm not sure what this means- DNS? DHCP lease?
Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

When investigating this sort of situation, it is often helpful to have a clear understanding of "the problem". Although to the user it may seem the same, there is a huge difference between:
- The WiFi system no longer broadcasting the WiFi SSID and allowing client devices to connect. In this case, devices connected with Ethernet cables may continue to work.
- The WiFi system continuing to function locally, but devices having no internet access (of any kind).
- The WiFi system and internet access functioning, but common apps such web browsing, streaming, email, not working (which is often a result of DNS resolution failing). Activities that do not require resolving URLs may continue to work. (such as ICMP - 'pinging' an internet resource by IP address.)

My bad- poorly worded and now edited.
Its only the Internet connection that drops- wifi and Lan are fine. App does not report issues.

- swamprat96AspirantSorted. 4.6.8.2 and closing my RDP port as it was getting continuously brute force attacked
