Question for your WIFi channel/band experts

So if you check out the image, I am apparently the first in the area (I live in a rowhouse) with WiFi 6 GHz band! My RBR960 router is set to use channel 69. Is there a reason to change it higher and lower amongst the channels showing?

  • I tend to use the lower 5Ghz channels for better compatibility for older 5Ghz devices and they may not support the DFS channels. I use 40 here.

HI Furry, my question was on any advantage of moving the 6GHz channel, not 5GHz!  But on the 5GHz, in my area everyone and their brother are at channel 40, I am on 48 - I tried both and there was a nice performance bump at 48 (~10% or so)

Use what you feel works for you on 6Ghz. I use channel 69 as well. Though I don't have any mobile devices that support 6Ghz as of yet. A RAXE500 and two PCs with AX210 and BE200 PCI cards in them that support 6Ghz is all I have to work with in my sad inventory. 😋
