RBK353 Internet Connection

Hi,

I installed an RBK 353 orbi wifi6 at my parents yesterday.   I am left with the strangest wifi problem i ahve ever encountered.

The Orbi interface shows Internet not connected, although the PC (ethernet to the router) and phones and tablets connect and find the internet fine, but bizzarely all the Amazon Alexa, echo etc cannot connect to the internet.

 

Modem is a Spark New Zealand Huawei standard issue Spark modem and as far as i can see i have the settings correct in the internet and bridge pages - I've checked them numerous times.   I ahve the latest firmware but still the same issue.  

I can't ratrionalise the apparent connection but the interface telling me I have no connection and some devices connecting while others don't - that makes no sense.

 

The modem is showing green so appears normal.

 

Any ideas would be appreciated

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
    What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

      Hi and thanks for the reply.

      Firmware was 4.3. out of the box; I upgraded to 4.4.0.10 I had the same problem with both this version and 4.3

      Modem is identified as a Spark VRV9517UWAC34 Smart modem (not sure who the real manufacturer is)

        Sorry, i should have added that the ONT fibre box is separate but i can't get the manufacturer or model yet.   Unfortuantley i am having to try to support my parents remotely so am not on site.
