RBK353 Internet Connection

Question

Hi,I installed an RBK 353 orbi wifi6 at my parents yesterday.&nbsp;&nbsp; I am left with the strangest wifi problem i ahve ever encountered.The Orbi interface shows Internet not connected, although the PC (ethernet to the router) and phones and tablets connect and find the internet fine, but bizzarely all the Amazon Alexa, echo etc cannot connect to the internet.&nbsp;Modem is a Spark New Zealand Huawei standard issue Spark modem and as far as i can see i have the settings correct in the internet and bridge pages - I've checked them numerous times.&nbsp;&nbsp; I ahve the latest firmware but still the same issue.&nbsp;&nbsp;I can't ratrionalise the apparent connection but the interface telling me I have no connection and some devices connecting while others don't - that makes no sense.&nbsp;The modem is showing green so appears normal.&nbsp;Any ideas would be appreciatedThanks

Yes, If Orbi is setting a 10.something DHCP LAN IP address pool, this means the ISP modem is using 192.168.1.1 which NG defaults too, Orbi avoids this when detected and changes to someting else.&nbsp;

Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.3. What Firmware version is currently loaded?What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

Hi and thanks for the reply.Firmware was 4.3. out of the box; I upgraded to 4.4.0.10 I had the same problem with both this version and 4.3Modem is identified as a Spark VRV9517UWAC34 Smart modem (not sure who the real manufacturer is)&nbsp;Thanks&nbsp;

Sorry, i should have added that the ONT fibre box is separate but i can't get the manufacturer or model yet.&nbsp;&nbsp; Unfortuantley i am having to try to support my parents remotely so am not on site.

A should also add that when trying to fix the problem last night we seemed to get wifi, but then the wireed ethernet to to desktop PC stopped working.&nbsp;&nbsp;One of the things i noticed when looking at the settings was that whilst apparently connected there was no IP address, etc all 0.0.0.0 despite some devices gaining access.One question - we connected the ethernet from the Spark modem to the "internet" port on the Orbi... but if the Modem is actually a modem/router... should it connect to one of the ethernet ports instead?
