RBK852 in AP with RBR50 Armor active

If I connect an RBK852 (in AP mode) to an RBR50 (with NETGEAR Armor and with WiFi radios off) does this in effect give the RBK852 NETGEAR Armor to devices connected to its WiFi 6?

Thank you, that’s great news. Sounds like a good work around until the RBK852 abilities are activated later this year.

  • When in AP mode, the Orbi AX system is only working in pass thru mode so any connected devices with the Orbi AX system just gets the traffice passed thru to the RBR50 which will be handling and inspecting all traffic coming from the Orbi AX wifi system in AP mode. So in effect, yes. Armor processing is being handling at the RBR50, not any where on the RBR850 in AP mode.

Thank you. It took a few days but The FW update showed up in my mobile app this morning. I removed the RBR50, changed the RBK850 to Router mode, selected Armor trial (was the only option) in the mobile app to activate. Result is my 2021 Armor expiration now shows up and everything is working like a charm.
