RBR50 slow wifi speed with FIOS
Hello,
I have gigabit service from Verizon and 3 Orbi devices. The router is connected directly to the FIOS ONT, no Verizon router. Wifi speeds are <400Mbps, usually around 200. Wired connections are strong, close to theoretical maximums.
What Firmware version is currently loaded? V3.2.18.1_1.4.14
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? Alcatel I-211M-L
What wieless device are you using? iPhone 12 Pro, Pixel 5
What are your wired speed results with a wired PC or laptop? 850+Mbps
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft? ~4500
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. Hardwired
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz. Have tried both auto and setting various manual channels.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many? No interferring wifi from neighbors

I had the same problem with an ORBI 750P. My Fios speed is supposed to be 300 but every week or so it would slow to 100. Verizon told me to reboot, which did not solve the problem. I put the problem into ChatGPT and it said to install an "unmanaged switch" between the Fios ONT and the router. Apparently, every so often the ONT asks the router what speed it should be and the router responds 100. The switch has resolved the problem. The part number for the switch is Netgear GS305 and it cost about $15 on Amazon.
