RBR750 / Blocking Services
I have a NVR connected to my RBR750 and I would like to block services to all ports except an SMTP port (587) used for email notifications. I have tried creating multiple ‘block services’ entries— one for range 1.586 and another for range 588.65535. However, when I do this, I get an error message “Blocked service already exists”. Is there a way to block services for all but some ports?

I believe you were on the correct path, but ran afoul of a glitch in the web site. I just now entered two Block Sites rules on an RBR50:
This was the second attempt. The first time, after rule A1 was "added", the screen showed two rules: one for ports 1-65535 plus rule A1. (after much swearing..."WTF did THAT come from???"), I deleted all rules and started over.
The Block Sites mechanism is horribly inept. (nearly useless in my opinion) There is only one schedule, that must apply to all rules.
What would be the point of blocking outbound connections from the NVR?
- Prevent the NVR from updating software?
- Not report usage to the vendor?

- Thanks — I appreciate your reply! Unfortunately, I tried this as well multiple times but to no avail. The only way I could get 2 entries for the same IP was to use TCP for 1:586 and TCP/UDP for 588:65536. Definitely frustrating.
Reason to block the NVR was I decided to use VPN instead for accessing my NVR. Trust issues with my NVR/camera manufacturer. 🙂Blocking TCP and TCP/UDP certainly works. What topped me off was seeing three definitions on the screen when I had entered only two.I remain unimpressed with this "feature" and it's single schedule.
In addition to email notifications, my security cameras feature "push" notifications to the camera "app". Have no idea which TCP port they use. (I have push notification turned off because life is too short to get all those annoying interruptions.)
