RBR750 crashes every time Adobe Creative Cloud downloads app

Recently noticed that my Orbi RBR750 crashes every time I download/update Adobe apps using Adobe Creative Cloud through ethernet connection. Tried factory resetting my Orbi but didn't help. I'm on V4.6.14.3_2.3.12. Not using Armor or data meter.

If I use a different router or directly connect my PC to my fiber ONT, everything works fine. Adobe Creative Cloud doesn't upset my other route or my fiber ONT, just the Orbi.

Does anyone else have this issue and have a solution? The only solution I have now is to connect to a VPN before downloading Adobe apps. Somehow that won't crash my Orbi. Maybe Adobe CC is doing too many requests that Orbi considers as network attack?

There are many Orbi users complaining about this on the Adobe forum, but I suspect this is more like a Orbi bug, https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install-discussions/creative-cloud-installer-breaks-internet-connection/m-p/12543932

Myth solved. There is a CAT5e cable in between my Fiber ONT and Orbi that might be faulty.

They were connected like this Fiber ONT ---> CAT5e  ---> CAT6  ---> Orbi. After I replaced the CAT5e with a new CAT6 cable, Orbi no longer crashes. Cable matters!

I don't use Armor, data meter or SPC. All router settings are kept default.

  • Does with happen with multiple PCs using same downloads with the Orbi system?

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the Orbi router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the Orbi router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser.
Press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release.

      1. This happens when only one PC downloads from Adobe CC, without any other traffic at all.

      2. My Fiber ONT is Nokia XS-010X-Q. ZiplyFiber is my ISP.

      3. I'm utilizing the smart panel integrated to my house to build my home internet so there is a combination of CAT5e, CAT6 and CAT7 cables being used in between. I will try connecting my PC, Orbi and ONT directly with 2 short CAT6 cables and see what happens. Will also try downloading through Wi-Fi.

      4. I factory reset my Orbi and ONT regularly, about every 1-2 months to make sure they are at clean state. Like I mentioned in my first post, I reset another time after I noticed this issue, but it didn't help. Setting the DHCP pool range to 100-200 is something new though. Never thought this would make any difference. But I will try and see what kind of magic it could do.
