RBR750P speeds slow due to LG soundbar

Just upgraded to the RBR 750P (firmware V6.3.8.5_1.4.80) because I thought my old mesh system was failing (Nighthawk AX3600 MK83-100NAS). I recently bought an LG S95QR soundbar and noticed that my speeds drop drastically whenever the soundbar is on (goes from 600-700 MBPS down to 1-30). I understand it is due to the wireless subwoofer and rear speakers connecting via Bluetooth over the same channels as the 2.4 GHz frequency. I have tried disabling the 2.4 GHz channel, disabling the 20/40 MHz coexistence in the advanced wireless settings, and moving the satellites further from my bedroom (where the soundbar is located), and have not found any success.

Is there any solution to allow these 2 to work together at the same time? Thanks.

  • Most likely no.

If the soundbar equipment is causing this issue, distances would need to be increased or change to a wired speaker system.

The Orbi 2.4G WiFi can be set to any channel from 1 to 11 (in the US, higher in other  countries)

If the soundbar tech support will identify which frequency they use, then pick a different channel for the Orbi.

Talked to LG for the past hour and a half. They were of no use. I found some forums that stated it is possibly the subwoofer causing the interference. I'm guessing I would have to play the guessing game on what channel to use? Thanks for the input!

I tried playing around with the 2.4 GHz channels and found that 4, 7, 9, and 10 gave me better speeds. However, now my internet speeds and ping are really bad when I am in the upstairs bedrooms near the main router. Is there any fix for this? It seems kind of strange that the wifi speeds are better near the satellites than the main router.
