RBR850 Low Speeds and Daily Reboots

I have an RBR850 3 unit mesh system, purchased in 2020. We haven’t had issues until the last 6 months. We’re fiber at the house with 1gb service. All tests show over 1gb on the router connected to ISP. Satellite tests show 250mb max download and 50mb upload. We previously tested close to 1gb for over 3 years consistently.

Every day for the last few weeks we’ve had to reboot the mesh network as streaming comes to a halt on all devices.

We have around 92-102 devices on our network, so I don’t know if this is a device limit issue and we should consider upgrading to the 870 to get 200 device limit. Everything I read suggests we should easily handle over 100 devices now.

We also have two Phillips Hue bridges with most lights in the house connected to those. I don’t believe those are causing interference, as they worked flawlessly for the first 4 years, but I’m at a loss to what the issue is.

I setup the network from scratch this week leaving all settings default and still see the issue. I had previously played with channel settings to no avail. Both satellites are 30 ft
Or more away from router.

With no Netgear support remaining, any help is appreciated. Thank you!

  • Pretty obvious that "something changed", and it is not obvious what it might be.  Is it impractical to 'wire' the satellites to the router?

What firmware version is currently installed on the router and satellites?  There have been a number of discussions about firmware v7.2.6.31 and many on the forum have recommended manually installing v7.2.6.21 and disabling the automatic update feature.

Thank you for the reply.  My current firmware is V7.2.6.31_5.0.24.  I can try to hardwire one of our satellites.  Currently they both are using wireless connections.  Are there known issues withV7.2.6.31_5.0.24?

There have been enough negative comments that people on the forum recommend against using it.

Might do a forum search and read through some of the conversations.
