RBR850 Satellite Connection Issue

I have 3 units of RBR850, 1 on each house floor.  The ONT and RBR850 are on the ground floor.

In a normal working scenario, the 2nd-floor RBR850 Satellite connects to the Ground-Floor RBR Main, and the 3rd-floor RBR Satellite connects to the 2nd Floor. In this scenario, typically, all floor users receive very good speed and connections.

RBR Router or Main -> 2nd Floor RBR850 -> 3rd Floor RBR850

But, at times and it has happened quite frequently, the 3rd Floor RBR850 Satellite connected to the Ground Floor. My 2nd floor devices ended up connecting to the Ground Floor RBR850.  When this happens, all connection speeds drop drastically.

How can I force all Satellite and devices to connect to their respective or correct Routers or Satellite?

Look forward to your advice.

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
    What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
    Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

    What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
    What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

    Also try turning down the power output of the RBRs wifi radios from 100% to 50% and see if this changes anything. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

    No, it's up to client devices to pick and choose where they connect too.
