RBR850 turns pink/magenta every day or so.
I've successfully used my RBR850 router with 2 satellites for just over 4 years. However, for the past 6 months or so, I've been starting to lose internet somewhat randomly every day or two, sometimes more days in between. However, it's not more than once per day, that I've experienced yet. In fact, it USUALLY seems to happen overnight.
The symptoms are:
- Main router turns pink/magenta.
- I can still access the router via wire.
- If I reboot or power cycle, all goes back to working.
- Satellites never show a problem when this occurs (no lights)
My system looks like this:
- Ziply Fiber modem (neighbors have reported no problems like mine)
- RBR850 and two satellites (all about 40 ft away from each other).
- Firmware is up-to-date on all: v7.2.6.31.
- My home is 2600 sq feet, and a rambler/ranch.
- Ziply modem is connected to yellow port on main router.
- Another port on router goes to netgear switch, which goes to other devices in my home.
- I've tried disabling the Armor feature.
- I've changed the 2.4GHz channel to 6 rather than Auto.
- I've moved satellites around.
Looking for any help. I'm wondering whether routers can "go bad" after 4 years or so. Seems unlikely, but maybe?

When was the FW updated?
Pink usually means the RBR has lost connection from the modem or the modem is not giving a good signal.

What is the model# of this modem?

Was the system working prior to this update?

For this size of home, the RBR and just 1 RBS or maybe two RBS would be needed.

What is the model # of this switch?
- I've tried disabling the Armor feature.

Does this happen with the RBS turned OFF?

Even though I entered my associated product as RBK854, supposedly it's an RBK853. Not sure that matters.
- FW was updated probably a week or two ago. I don't recall. I just checked for new firmware again, but I'm up-to-date.- Yes, the pink definitely means it lost connection to the modem somehow. I've replaced wires already with brand new ones.
- Ziply fiber modem model: Nokia G-240G-A.
- The system worked fine for 3+ years with no problem like this. It's just lately that it's acting up. I actually was thinking that maybe a recent firmware update may have caused some problems. That's why I updated to the absolute latest.
- The only thing I did differently the last 4 months is move one of the satellites to a new outbuilding about 60-70 ft from my house. I thought that might be causing some sort of trouble, even though the setup had been working for at least a couple months (minus this random drop problem that *seems* to be getting more frequent). The biggest problem I had in this new outbuilding was that the *satellite* would get the pink light. But after moving things around, that doesn't seem to be a problem anymore.
- netgear switch model: GS310TP
- I can try turning off the satellites tonight. The only trouble is that it CAN take more than a day for this light to occur. In fact, I moved the router up higher just recently and thought I fixed the problem because it didn't happen for a few days. But then it did again. 😞
Ok, if you updated FW and the issues started mostly recently, maybe a FW issue. Theres been many users posting about v.31 not working for them and causing problems. After all troubleshooting was done, issues still seemed to happend so we've been recommended those having issues after v.31 was loaded, to revert ALL RBS first back to v.21 then the RBR lastly to v.21. Factory reset and setup from scratch then immediately disable the auto update feature on the RBR to keep the system from being re-updated back to v.31.
v.21 seems to be most stable to date and works well. I've not update my systems to v.31 and have kept v.21 on mine. Been running my 960 series this past couple of weeks and working great.
