RBS750 has purple status but is fully functional
I've got the CBR/RBS750 set. CBR has FW V4.6.5.8. RBS has FW V4.6.5.14. The RBS750 started showing a solid purple light a few days ago but is otherwise fully functional. It shows connected in the Orbi app and when I log into the CBR. Devices are connecting to it wired and wirelessly at 2.4 and 5.0Ghz. Speed is great.
The only other thing that is off is when I log directly into the RBS750 and it displays a screen saying it's not connected using this address: http://192.168.1.250/hijack.htm. When I hit OK to that screen it goes to the standard status page: http://192.168.1.250/status.html where everything appears to be ok.
I'm a little concerned about that hijack.htm page but haven't found a way to reset the admin password on the RBS750.

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
https://kb.netgear.com/31029/Where-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite 🛰️What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many? What browser are you using?
Be sure to clear out ALL browser caches before going to the RBR or RBS web page.
You should not be using http://192.168.1.250/hijack.htm to access the RBS web page.
Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router and RBS been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.
I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the Orbi router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the Orbi router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser.- mondrinGuide
I appreciate your response but it's pretty generic and doesn't fully apply since the CBR750 is the modem and router combined. I would love to factory reset the RBS750 but don't know how. I've tried using a paper clip and pressing the reset button for 30+ seconds but that didn't do anything. I access the RBS750 by browsing to 192.168.1.250 using chrome or Edge. I found the IP using an IP scanner.
The rbs will get a default address of 192.168.1.250 but it should change after first setting up and syncing with the router.
do you have it hardwired into the router? or wireless?
Try connecting it via a hardwired connection to the router and trying it. It should give you a different ip address.
Someone also pointed out the CBK750 satellites have their own firmware so make sure the firmware you're using for it is the one specific to that set.
