RBS850 alternatives

Hello.  have a system with an RBR850 router and three RBS850 satellites. Now I need one more satellite, but the RBS850 does not seem to be sold anywhere anymore.

I have checked the compatibility chart and can't find any RBR850-compatible satellites that are sold anymore. So what are my options now? Are there any newer satellites that works with my router even if they are not listed on the official chart? Are there any other firmwares that are compatible with more satellite models? Any other suggestions?

Amazon sells the RBS850.  People sell them on eBay as well.

Yes I have seen used units on Ebay. Not in Sweden though, but it's on my watch list. The few sold on Amazon are usually out of stock or impossible to deliver if you try to buy one.

But I guess the solution is to buy a used one.

It might be worth considering the reason a total of four WiFi access points are required.  Mesh satellites are superior to WiFi "extenders" for mobile devices (which roam around) If the need for more WiFi coverage is primarily for devices that remain in place, such as security cameras, swimming pool controllers, etc. then perhaps an ordinary WiFi Extender might be sufficient.

The 850 system is a strong system:

    • 2.5G WAN port, so faster internet service can be handled already.
    • Tri-band design, which separates router-satellite communication from user traffic

A newer system would have little effect on a house full of Internet of Things (IoT) gizmos that probably have 2.4G radios in them and use almost no bandwidth.  Swapping out the 850 for a newer system could be a serious investment.

I have two hoses about 10 meters apart and I need one more satellite to cover everything including some of the garden outside. Switching to a completely new system with the same coverage would cost at least $2000. if it had been an older system with poor performance I would have considered that option.
