RBS850 Fixed IP

How can I fix (lock) the ip on client wifi?
I have an RBS850 and have to have the same IP on my iPhone every time it is on the network.

The RBS850 is a satellite. It doesn't handle IP addresses. You'll have to do that with the router it talks to. Probably an RBR850.

    Two options:

    • Look on the phone for a way to fix its IP address (you'll have to ask App;e for details on what to do there)
    • "Reserve" an IP address for the phone on the router.

    Visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

Look for the model number on the label on the device.

Check the section in the manual Manage reserved LAN IP addresses.

While many questions, including this one, about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

    Orbi - NETGEAR Communities

You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.

First, turn off the iPhone's "private address" feature that randomizes its MAC address for when it is connected to your wifi network: https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-manage-or-disable-mac-randomization-in-ios-and-ipados-14/

Next, use orbilogin.com (same as routerlogin.net) to set a Reserved IP address for your iPhone: https://kb.netgear.com/25722/How-do-I-reserve-an-IP-address-on-my-NETGEAR-router.  The Orbi is still responsible for assigned IP to your iPhone via DHCP but will always assigned the same one.
