Rbs850 Orbi just want add a further Ethernet port to another room
Hi I have a Orbi rbs850 system with 1 router 2 satellites which works great. I don’t want to add another satellite in my music room as WiFi is good but I need an Ethernet port. Can anyone recommend a product I can add to the Orbi that gives me a port but does not create a separate network ? Any help appreciated cheers
You could just pick up a cheap wifi extender with ethernet. yes it creates a separate network but if you have nothing connected to it other than the wired device, it isn't going to create issues.

You could try Powerline Ethernet. This turns your mains circuit into an Ethernet network. The quality depends on the mains circuit.

I thought about that but decided that Powerline might be a better suggestion.
Based on my experience, as long as it works OK to start with, Powerline is easier to set up and less sensitive to interference. It is also easier to manage. Once set up it needs no maintenance on the way of firmware and login management.
I guess it depends on what this Ethernet port is meant to connect.
