RBS750 Oreedoo - Unable to Update Firmware
I am writing to request urgent assistance with updating the firmware on 2 Netgear satellite units (Model: RBS750). I acquired these satellites during my stay in Qatar and while subscribed to Ooredoo....

As long as you are having fun.......
There is some confusion over which IP address the RBS750 satellite will assume when Factory Reset. (This is critical because the computer that has a Static IP address and is running TFTP or nmrpflash must be in the same IP subnet as the satellite.) Some references say the satellite will appear at 192.168.1.250 and some say it will appear at 192.168.10.250. The User Manual
https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RBK752/RBK752_UM_EN.pdf
says on page 130:
This means that the computer running TFTP must be set to a static IP in 192.168.1.x (with subnet 255.255.255.0) and TFTP must be set to transmit the image to 192.168.1.250.
My last experience using TFTP was frustrating. It failed five times in a row. (grrr. reaching for the hammer) Then, what else do I have to do right now? Try fix worked!
What I infer from the experience is that "timing is everything".
- Try to start the transfer too soon, and the satellite is not ready to accept a TFTP connection: fail.
- Wait too long, and the satellite has stopped listening for a TFTP connection: fail.
- It it "just right", and: success!
The RBR750 (router) should appear at 192.168.1.1

Thanks for the tip, tried both TFTP and nmrpflash based on your recommendations, and got the same negative results on both. Clearly there's something missing.

(Damn. I have have a 'comfort zone', this certainly is not it.)
Perhaps a silly question. When the computer running TFTP/nmrpflash and the RBS750 satellite are connected with an Ethernet cable with the computer set to a static IP address in 192.168.1.x, it the RBS750 is powered on and let sit for 5 minutes or so:
- Does it respond to ICMP (ping) from the computer at 192.168.1.250?
- Is a web browser on the computer able to open a web interface on the satellite at 192.168.1.250?
