Certainly does. Remote access has a specific meaning in Netgearspeak. It goes nowhere near MyNetgear as an intermediary and dives into your router from afar.
Anywhere Access is enabled by default.
When using the mobile app, there is an option to turn it off:
- Settings
- Anywhere Access
There is no option for that in the GUI.
When you use the app, there are two options. Anywhere Access and Local Access. You should see Local Access as an option when you are connected to the same wifi network as the router. At some stage the app will ask you for the admin login details for the router.
Chuck_M wrote:The RBR850 pukes when you try to enable that same remote access via the mobile app.
What actually happens when use Local Access to connect the app to the RBR850?

As you can see, that message doesn't mean much in the context of Anywhere Access. There is no remote management.
Is the RBR850 registered to the account that you have on the RBR970s?
Just another user with time on their hands.

Forgot to answer your question: Local access works just fine on cell phone (which you see the image of below). It is just the function of attempting to enable Anywhere Access.

Seems to have gone missing.
If you can see Local (should that read Connected Locally?) in the app, then Anywhere Access seems to be working.
This is what I see in Android. (Edited to protect the guilty.)
